To many, the rolling terrain of Folsom is horse country, and the area hosts the GALA – Gallop Around Louisiana horse show every year, as well as polo matches. However, Folsom isn’t just for horses.
 
All sorts of animals reside at the unique Global Wildlife Center. The largest free-roaming wildlife preserve in the U.S. Global Wildlife is home to 4,000 exotic and endangered animals from across the globe. Visitors can experience the creatures up close from wagons traveling through the reserve’s 900 acres.
 
Folsom also is known for its plant nurseries, and the annual NorthShore Garden show in March. Folsom hosts a Cajun Mardi Gras-themed parade each year and has Folsom’s Village Market and a community yard sale.
